Περιγραφή Μαθήματος
This course is designed to polish your English language skills to a C1/C2 level while providing targeted preparation for the Panhellenic exams and international certifications. We focus on academic writing, complex text analysis, and advanced vocabulary.
-
Focus: Preparation for the "Special Lesson" (Eidiko Mathima).
-
Goal: Mastering syntax, specialized terminology, and time-management strategies for exams.
DUE DATE: 31 MARCH (click to read the details)
General aim:
-
Analyze historical instances of book burning, such as the Nazi ceremonies in Germany in 1933 and the Metaxas dictatorship in Greece, to understand their political motivations and consequences.
-
Examine symbolic representations of these events in works like Markus Zusak's The Book Thief and Alki Zei's Wildcat Under Glass, focusing on how language and reading represent freedom and resistance.
-
Reflect on the role of memorials, like Berlin's "Sunken Library," in preserving historical memory and serving as a warning against future intolerance.
Managing your time during the English Panhellenic exam is just as important as your vocabulary and grammar knowledge. The exam lasts 3 hours (180 minutes), and you need to allocate them wisely to avoid rushing through the Writing section.
